STEPS Philadelphia girls’ HS roundup: Harriton’s Henderson nets 200th; Springfield-Delco edges Ridley

Jane Henderson tallied five goals, three assists and three draw controls and reached 200 goals for her career as visiting Harriton defeated Lower Merion, 16-5, Tuesday in Central League girls lacrosse.

Henderson became the fifth girl in five graduating classes to hit 200 goals for the Rams (9-3, 5-2). Others were Carly Sukonik, Jess schwab, Caleigh Foust, and Katie Melvin.

Laura Lasprogata (4G, 1A, 5DCs) and Alex Ladda (4G, 1A, 1DC) also had big days for the Rams.

Abby Goldstein had four goals for the Aces.

Springfield-Delco 9, Ridley 8

Emily Santana had three goals, including the game-winner with under 7 minutes to play, to lift the first-place Cougars (8-1, 6-0) in the Central League.

Bailey O’Brien added three goals for Springfield, which trailed 5-2 at halftime.

Emily Johnson had four goals for the Green Raiders.

Radnor 17, Strath Haven 7

Hannah Proctor had three goals and two assists and Katie Quinn three goals and one assist for the Raiders (9-1, 6-1), who travel to play at Springfield-Delco on Thursday.

Garnet Valley 17, Marple Newtown 6

Emily Mathewson paced the Jags with four goals, five assists and three draw controls.

Megan Lynch had three goals for Marple.

Conestoga 16, Haverford High 10

Sondra Dickey scored five goals as the Pioneers (9-1, 6-0) remained even with Springfield-Delco atop the Central League.

Springfield Township 17, Cardinal O’Hara 8

Lindsey Smith (5 goals, 2 caused turnovers, 5 draw controls, 3 ground balls) led the Spartans to the non-league win.

Jess Randazzo had three goals for O’Hara.

Franklin Towne Charter 9, Washington 5

Sarah Shotwell paced FTC with four goals.

Delco Christian 8, Lower Moreland 6

Delco Christian got balanced scoring from Ally Aubyk (2Goals, 1DC, 3GB, 2CTO), Emma Ellsworth (2G, 7DC,3GB) and Paige Thompson (2G, 2DC, 2GB) to earn the Bicentennial League win.

Jenkintown 12, New Hope 11

Emma Dorshimer paced the Drakes with seven goals and five draw controls.

Friends’ Central 16, Germantown Friends 11

Lorna Macfarlane had five goals, two assists and four draw controls to lead the Phoenix.

Bayard Rustin 10, Henderson 9

Michelle Chessock (two goals) scored the game-winner with less than a minute to play to lift Rustin.

Tina St. Clair paced the offense with three goals.

Katie Heisman led the Warriors with three goals and two assists
