Isaiah King said competing last year in The Match™ helped him in the recruiting process as he searched for the right program that fit his academic and athletic goals.

“The Match really helped connect me with many D3 coaches,” said King, a 2016 midfielder from Eastern York (PA) who recently committed to Philly suburban power Eastern University. “This (showcase) helped provide more of an intimate and proactive setting than a regular recruiting event.The-Match

“The Match helped me really decide on which coaches I would approach, and connect with, as well as allowing to research the programs that the school presented for my academic needs.”

The Match™ is an individual showcase with Boys’ and Girls’ Sessions ( focusing on strong players targeting Division III colleges.

The event, open to both boys and girls who are in 2016-2018 graduation years, will be held on Sunday, October 18 at The Hill School in Pottstown, PA. Registration remains open, but spots are limited.

The Match has been very well-received by college coaches, players and families and has resulted in a number of successful recruiting outcomes/commitments. An array of coaches and schools are expected to be in attendance. Schools that have registered and confirmed their participation are listed below.

King, who plans to major in Mathematics, said that the format of The Match is ideal for those seeking Division III colleges. King earned All-Match honors in the 2014 event.

“I do see many advantages to attending the match when it comes to looking for both academic and athletic needs,” he said. “It really allows you to research the teams, look at the programs they offer, and help search the area of the school.

“Not only does it allow these things, it also allows us to research the history school, allowing us to look at the players and what areas they are previously from, what’s unique about the school, and the fit of the school compared to yourself. The Match really helps prepare you and create connections with D3 coaches, allowing an easy access to the recruiting process.”

Anthony Rosato, a 2017 face-off specialist and midfielder from Germantown Academy (PA), also earned All-Match in 2014. He committed to Stevenson University and plans to major in Business.

Rosato enjoyed the format of the showcase; it features positional clinics, drills/station work, 7v7 games, full field scrimmages, and a recruiting seminar/presentation on the DIII value proposition.

“I like the fast paced, up tempo games that were on the shorter fields,” Rosato said. “The tournament definitely helped me, and I received a lot of interest after participating in it. It got my name out to a good amount of D3 programs.

“Also, the level of play was intense and the type of players there were just as good as any of the other players I have gone against at other showcases.”
