After a team-best seven-point effort on four goals and three assists in SJU’s opening two games of the 2015 season, Saint Joseph’s sophomore attack Mike Rastivo (South Setauket, N.Y./Choate Rosemary Hall (Conn.)/Ward Melville) has been selected the Northeast Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. This mark’s Rastivo’s second NEC weekly honor of his career and first Player of the Week nod.

In SJU’s 12-11 win over High Point on Saturday, Rastivo tallied a team-best five points on a team-best three goals and team-best two assists, including the game-winning assist on Ryan McGee’s game-winner with 2.6 seconds remaining in regulation.

Rastivo scored his first two goals during the first half of play and, tied 9-9 with 10:39 remaining in the fourth period, added his third tally to put SJU ahead, 10-9, to give the Hawks their first lead of the game since the 9:43 mark of the first period.

In SJU’s 9-5 loss at Richmond on Saturday, February 7, Rastivo tied for a team-best two points on one goal and one assist.

Rastivo and the Hawks return to action on Tuesday, February 17 against #14 Penn. Opening face-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Sweeney Feld.
