Cape Henlopen

Head Coach: PJ Kesmodel, 8th year
PL Girls' HS previews
Last year’s record: 13-5 last year, 6th straight Delaware State Championship

Key returnees:
“We return 10 of our top 16 players including 3 first team All-State players – seniors Sam Broadhurst (a Lafayette field hockey commit) in the goal, Taylor Gooch (Temple lax commit) at defense and Sarah Tappan at attack. The other returning seniors, Jordan Brown and Lexi Woodruff at attack and Coryn Cannon at defense will also be counted on to be key contributors to the success of the 2015 Cape team.

“I’m also counting heavily on 3 returning Junior midfielders – Lizzie Frederick (another Temple commit), Tess Bernheimer (a Drexel field hockey commit & DE Player of the Year in field hockey) and 3-sport athlete Alison Palmer. Our other returning midfielder Soph Cailey Thornburg another 3-sport athlete will also be counted on to step up this spring.

Coach’s outlook for 2015 season: “Although we lost 6 senior starters including two 1st team All-Americans we should be pretty good again this year. We will be very young, especially at midfield, where none of the 6 projected regulars are seniors.”
