Maverick, which also got two goals from Jake Bevenour (Pope John Paul II), grabbed a 6-1 lead after one period and put things away with a 7-2 run in the final quarter after Evolution drew within 8-5.

The contest featured a mixed team format, with players from the same team squaring off against each other in many instances.

“Overall everyone had a great time playing for the last time as PAC-10 players,” said Pottsgrove head coach Fred Michaels. “The event is meant to provide one last opportunity to play the game in a mixed format where players are competing against their own school teammates.

“Many of these athletes will be moving to collegiate lacrosse at all levels from Division III to Division I. The event is meant to be a light-hearted affair where good sportsmanship is evident. The referees volunteered their time to support the event. Each team was supported by PAC-10 head coaches and assistants.”

Some of the other highlights from the game included:
► Maverick goalies Brandon Calle (Owen J. Roberts) and Michael Frazier (Pope John Paul II) both went coast-to-coast to score goals
►Team Evolution Zach Hare of five-time defending league champion Spring-Ford showed his versatility by collecting a hat trick before playing goalie in the fourth quarter
►Halftime showcase was the U9 Boys Red and White lacrosse teams from the Coventry Youth Lacrosse League
►Jordon Dement (Pottsgrove) scored a late goal on a multi-player hidden ball play where six attack and middie players for Team Maverick huddled around each other and then broke out with Dement holding the ball and scoring.
►Methacton’s Jake Blitzer had multiple saves for Evolution
