The Rutgers men’s lacrosse program welcomed 12 newcomers to campus with the start of fall practice. Fifth-year head coach Brian Brecht announced a class that includes three defensemen, two long-stick midfielders, four midfielders, one attacker and two goalkeepers.
The class also includes eight players who have received All-America honors, including Gage Bradshaw, Garrett Bullett, Mark Christiano, Ryan Cunningham, Maxton Edelmann, Zackary Franckowiak, Garrett Michaeli, and Kyle Pless. The newcomers span six different states, including New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Colorado, Texas, and Utah.
“My staff and I are excited to welcome this class to the Rutgers Lacrosse Family as we start the fall semester here “On The Banks”, head coach Brian Brecht said. “As we begin our fall workouts I look forward to this group contributing and meshing well with all our returning players as we prepare for the upcoming spring season. I am very impressed with our veteran leadership, led by senior captain Scott Bieda, and I feel that this new class of student-athletes will be great ambassadors of Rutgers University both in the classroom and on the Big Ten Lacrosse field.”
