The 13th ranked Albany Great Danes came to Philadelphia and defeated the 19th-ranked Drexel Dragons, 15-8at Vidas Field. Drexel fell to 0-2 on the season with two losses to top 20 teams. It was the opener for the Great Danes.
Cole Shafer had three goals to lead the Dragons. He added an assist for a team-best four points. Seth Oakes scored four times and Connor Fields added three goals and three assists for the Great Danes, who never trailed after a brief 1-0 deficit early in the contest.
The game was played in front of 731 fans at a snowy Vidas Field, where conditions forced the grounds crew to blow snow off the field three separate times.
Cole Shafer led Drexel with three goals and an assist and Ryan Belka scored twice. Will Gabrielsen made 10 saves.
Seth Oakes led Albany with four goals and Connor Fields had three goals and three assists.
Colgate 12, Lafayette 10
Eric Joseph tallied four goals and Robert Orazietti added a hat trick for Lafayette, but No. 20 Colgate held off the Leopards second half comeback.
The Leopards moved to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in Patriot League play, while the Raiders improved to 3-0 this season and 1-0 in conference action. Jason Sands handed out a game-high five assists for the Leopards. Matt Cortese made 18 saves in a losing effort for Lafayette.
Peter Donato (Radnor) had a goal and an assist as well as a caused turnover for Colgate. Brian Bock (Spring-Ford) scored once for the Leopards.
