Senior midfielder Mac Gallagher (Shipley School) of the Lafayette men’s lacrosse team was the Leopards’ recipient of the Nicholas Colleluori Memorial Award, it was announced at the Nicholas Colleluori Classic Long Island event on Oct. 10 at Hofstra.
This prestigious honor was presented by HEADstrong President Cheryl Colleluori in honor of her son, Nick, the Ridley High grad who lost his courageous battle with cancer on Nov. 28, 2006. The award is given to a member of each program whose contributions both on and off the field are transforming the landscape of their represented program.
Gallagher has been involved in every game since stepping on campus in 2012, making 16 starts in 40 games. The Ardmore, Pa. native scored four goals a year ago and picked up 13 ground balls.
Lafayette was joined by Hofstra, Quinnipiac and Dartmouth at the event this past weekend in support of HEADstrong. The HEADstrong Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their families through providing essential programs and services.
