The HEADstrong Lacrosse Club has locked in dates and times for it’s HEADstrong Winter Training Sessions. The sessions will be held over a 4-week period at Mainline Sports Center, 1340 Swedesford Road, Berwyn, PA 19312. The dates and times are as follows for all groups:
There are very limited spots remaining. To be clear, the training is meant for experienced players, not beginners. The training is only open to players in the graduating classes of 2019 (currently 8th grade), 2018 (current freshmen), 2017 (current sophomore) and 2016 (current junior).
The first two weeks of the positional training programs will be no contact, footwork, dodging, positioning, shooting, and stickwork drills within your positional group. The second two weeks will be run in tandem with other positional groups in order to go full contact, full shooting, 1 on 1’s, 2 on 2’s etc.
The idea being that the first two weeks are full instruction and the second two weeks will be implementing those instructions and going “live” in front of your positional coach in order to get immediate coaching/follow up on your positional education. We have two separate fields reserved for all of this during those dates and times. The positional training drills are coming directly from current Division 1 programs “individual” off-season workouts.
The attack positional training will be run by Michael Colleluori (former All-American at Hofstra). The midfield positional training will be run by Dan Layfield (HEADstrong 2017 coach, current Wissahickon Head coach, former Midfielder at Drexel University). The Goalie training will be run by Mark Manos (HEADstrong 2018 Coach, Charlotte Hounds Goalie, Former All-American at Drexel). Defensive training will be run by Brian Zusi (HEADstrong 2016, current Head Coach at Rosemont College).
