Nick Vernacchio scored the game-winner and Bob McPeake made eight saves as Upper Dublin defeated Avon Grove, 4-3, in double overtime Saturday night in a non-league boys’ lacrosse game.Fusion-Lacrosse-e1426032047676

The Cards were shut out in the first half by Liam Brodie (11 saves) and trailed, 2-0, at halftime before tallying three in the third period.

Unionville 12, Council Rock South 5

Unionville won at its Pink Invitational, an event to raise money for HER and also to honor former Unionville High School Coaches John Rohde and Bruce Vosburgh for their invaluable contributions to youth and high school lacrosse.

Jimmy Nowoswiat led the Indians with four goals and two assists and Winslow Davis had three goals and three assists while Danny Donovan added three goals and one assist and Owen Rogers posted 10 saves.

Boys’ Latin (MD) 10, Radnor 8

The Raiders lost to the nationally-ranked Lakers in the first game of the PINK tourney at Unionville. Radnor was paced by a strong showing in goal by Alex Andersen, who had 11 saves, solid work at the X by Tom Meyers who was 11 of 21 against a trio of faceoff specialists and Jack Norton who had three goals and one assist.

Central Bucks East 6, Conestoga 4

Ryan Brown scored three goals to lead the Patriots to the key win.

Chris Brady scored twice for the Pioneers.

Academy New Church 11, Archbishop Ryan 3

Jesse Frazier had three goals and James Vandegrift added two goals and three assists for ANC.

JT Boyle posted 14 saves for Ryan and Tyer Bollard won 14 of 18 face-offs.

Haverford HS 9, Bayard Rustin 8

Luke McCallion scored four goals and won 19 of 20 face-offs and Bobby McClure had two goals and four assists for the Fords.

Brett O’Neil had three goals and an assist for Rustin.

Ridley 14, CB West 2

Joe Minnick had five goals and an assist to lead the Green Raiders.

Steve Hogan 13 had saves for Central Bucks West.

Penncrest 11, Kennett 4

Alex Bonnett scored three goals and Dan Bullitt had two goals and two assists to lead Penncrest.

John Finfrock tallied two for Kennett.

Allentown Central Catholic 13, Scranton Prep 3

Drew Glemser led a balanced ACC attack with two goals and an assist.

Henderson 12, Cardinal O’Hara 4

Luke Pennington had four goals and two assists and Eric Beren made 10 saves for the Warriors.
