From Press Release
Epoch Lacrosse once again has raised the bar in the lacrosse equipment world. The Minneapolis-based company today announced its full support of the lacrosse dying community and has removed the word “dying” from its warranty policy making all dyed Epoch lacrosse heads covered under warranty.
“We understand that players like to customize their sticks to better reflect their personalities both on and off the field,” said James Miceli, Principal of Epoch Lacrosse. “Dying heads has been a part of the game for a very long time and has quickly become an industry unto itself.
“We understand and fully support the head dying community and marvel at the creativity and the craftsmanship that goes into these one-off works of art. At the end of the day, our engineers and material suppliers confirmed there really was no evidence that lacrosse heads were weakened by the color dying process.”
Miceli said in an interview with Phillylacrosse.com that the decision was not made based on any other company policies in the market.
“It was something we felt was right for our brand and our customers,” said Miceli. “We want to fit into the marketplace.
“Even when I was younger, dying your head something you did. It was cool, it was fun; we have become friends with a lot of people in the lacrosse community that dye their heads and string heads and we love creativity. We want people to personalize (our gear).
“We want people to know we care. Why exclude them? We want to embrace them. They buy our products and we will support them.”
