Delaware HS boys’, girls’ roundup: Tower Hill’s Pettit breaks school’s scoring record

Andrew Pettit set the all time Tower Hill lacrosse scoring record Wednesday night in a 14-6 victory over Sanford School in Delaware.

Pettit, a senior attackman signed to Lehigh, had five goals and six assists in the game. The prior Tower Hill record was held by Nick Rossi (TH 2005, Navy) and Evan Dedominicis (TH 2009, Williams). Both shared the record of 240 career points. With Wednesday’s game, the new record is set at 243 points.

Caesar Rodney 18, Sussex Central 0

Four goals by Nate Aloe, three by Sean McLeish and David Schmidt, and two each by Thomas Aloe and Cameron Gillette paced the Riders of Caesar Rodney to a win over the Golden Knights of Sussex Central.

Sussex Tech 14, Smyrna 6

Four goals by Jason Whaley, three each by Matthew Carlisle and Matthew Tull, and two each by brothers Nate and Travls Quillen paced the Ravens of Sussex Tech to a win over the Eagles of Smyrna. For the Eagles, Jake Kaiser led with two goals.

Archmere 18, Polytech 7

Seven goals by Colin Duffy, five by Benjamin Revak, three by Anthony Brawley, and two each by Robert Baxter and Xavier Glavin paced the Auks of Archmere to a win over the Panthers of Polytech. The Panthers were led with two goals each by Jeremy Armonn and Robert Mason.

Milford 11, Indian River 5

Five goals by Matthew Virmontes, three by Ring Lardner and two by Zachary Heesch paced the Buccaneers of Milford to a win over the Indians of Indian River

Delmar 16, Lake Forest 8

Five goals by Chance Watts, and three by Andrew Blewett paced the Wildcats of Delmar to a win over the Spartans of Lake Forest. Carter Kenton led the Spartans with four goals.

Girls

Archmere 15, Wilmington Friends 13

Four goals by Presley Conaty, three each by Elizabeth Schlitz and Julia Collins, and two by Kennedy Murphy and Sydney Yanick paced the Lady Auks of Archmere to a win over the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends. The Lady Quakers were led by Brooke Winfield with six goals and four by Meryl Gatti.

Polytech 18, St. Thomas More 7

Six goals by Jamie Trabaudo paced the Lady Panthers of Polytech to a win over the Lady Ravens of St. Thomas More.
