The Cabrini men’s lacrosse team will play in one of the largest and most iconic college facilities in the nation when it faces Rochester Institute of Technology on March 14.
The Cavaliers and Tigers will meet in the Carrier Dome on the campus of Syracuse University, as part of a Division I and Division III doubleheader.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our program and our student-athletes to play in such a historic venue,” said Cabrini head coach Steve Colfer. “It will be a great day of lacrosse, as we face one of the nation’s best teams in a venue that has seen the Orange raise 11 National Championship and four conference championship banners,”
Syracuse will host Johns Hopkins at 2 p.m. in the day’s opening game, while Cabrini and RIT – a Division III semifinalist last year – will take the pitch at 5:30 p.m. in a battle of perennial NCAA Tournament teams.
The game will also mark a homecoming for juniors Joey Dalfo and Peter Kip, both from Syracuse, N.Y., and assistant coach Dana Wilber, a native of Penn Yan, N.Y. Wilber’s brother, Baird, is also a preseason All-American defenseman for RIT.
The Cavaliers will open its 2015 on January 21 when it welcomes Haverford College to Edith Robb Dixon Field at 1 p.m.
