Drew Supinski and Forry Smith each scored four goals today to lead host Haverford School to a 12-5 win over Episcopal Academy in an early Inter-Ac League showdown.

Grant Ament added two goals and an assist for the Fords (1-0 Inter-Ac, 8-0 overall), the No. 1 team in the Epoch North American Rankings and the Boys’ Rankings.

“This is a good way to start the league schedule,” head coach John Nostrant said. “We have to keep building on this.”

Dox Aitken registered a goal and an assist for Haverford School, which led 7-1 at halftime. Alex de Marco stopped 11 shots.

“Offensively, we’re a tough team to match up with,” Nostrant said. “We’re always able to find the matchup we like.”

Curtis Zappala scored a team-high three goals for the visiting Churchmen (0-1, 5-2), the No. 5 team in the Epoch North American Rankings and the No. 2 team in the Boys’ Rankings.

Gavin Chambers notched a goal and an assist for Episcopal Academy. Colin Reder recorded 13 saves. Christian Feliziani won 16 of 25 face offs.

“We were outplayed in every facet of the game today,” Churchmen head coach Andy Hayes said. “They are a great team but our effort today was highly disappointing and uncharacteristic.

“I need to do a better job preparing the team. Congrats to Haverford on a complete win.”

According to Supinski, the Fords minimized many of the stick errors that plagued them in the first half of a non-league victory over St Anthony’s three days earlier.

“We were able to capitalize on some of their turnovers in the first half,” he said. “We had a good game.”
