HEADstrong Foundation™ 5th annual Limelight Gala, recognizing groundbreaking achievements in research, honoring inspiring stories of hope, celebrating survivorship and remembering those who have lost their battle with blood cancer. The event will be held at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing (formerly the Hyatt Regency) located at 201 South Christopher Columbus Boulevard; from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $250 per seat. In addition, HEADstrong is offering a Young Professionals ticket for guests ages 21-30. The $100 ticket will allow guests access to the event after 9pm for dessert, dancing and silent auction.

The black-tie optional event will include a silent auction and a spectacular dinner program featuring a special live performance, world-class entertainment, an award presentation concluded by dancing to celebrate the life and legacy of HF Founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori, the Ridley High graduate and student-athlete at Hofstra University.
This year, television host and broadcast journalist Dawn Stensland, best known for her career of anchoring the news in Philadelphia and currently the host of WMCN-TV’s Dawn, will serve as emcee for the occasion. Proceeds from the Lime Light Gala will support Nick’s House™, a facility operated by the HEADstrong Foundation™ which provides complimentary lodging to displaced families traveling to Philadelphia for blood cancer related treatment and the Nicholas E. Colleluori Lymphoma Research Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania under the direction of Stephen J. Schuster, MD.

CrosseFIRE clinics this Winter at Archbishop Carroll High in Radnor. CrosseFIRE Lacrosse is the area’s leading indoor clinic program, featuring skill development and game instruction for female lacrosse players of all ability levels. At each clinic, participants are guided through an intense workout of strategy and skill instruction. Coached, small-sided play allows for practice and implementation of emphasized skills and techniques. Instruction is the primary focus of these clinics. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of good stickwork and techniques. The clinics are also one means by which players are identified for invitation into the PHANTASTIX Lacrosse Club, a travel/tournament lacrosse program for serious lacrosse players.

Free women’s lacrosse informational athletic injury prevention clinic, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Area Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association (PASLA) and Philadelphia Lacrosse Association, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m., at Total Performance Physical Therapy at 2278 North Penn Rd. in Hatfield (inside the Bucksmont Indoor Sports Center). It is open to all coaches, parents, and players. Dr. Heather Moore, PT, DPT, CKTP, will run the clinic and cover injury prevention (including ACL), activities coaches should implement in every practice, things to consider when creating conditioning programs and what can you do as a parent or athlete to stay healthy. The NXT@EA Lacrosse Training Academy for girls in Grades 3 through 8 on Monday and Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm beginning March 30th and ending May 13th at The Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square. The Lacrosse Training Academy will focus on educational instruction and the individual development of each player through methodical progressions within our detail-oriented curriculum. The goal is to make every player better through evaluating and teaching advanced stick-work, footwork, shooting, and communication. In addition to individual development, players will be taught team concepts that can easily be carried over into any club or team they play for! We believe in helping young players develop confidence, creativity and the ability to read the game. For players participating in summer lacrosse tournaments, this spring training will provide the advanced instruction needed in order to elevate your game. The Lacrosse Training Academy is open to all girls in the area regardless of club, school or township affiliation. Our coaching stable will consist of coaches from multiple club and collegiate programs, including but not limited to Phantastix, Ultimate, Envy, Philly Blast, Villanova, Drexel, Yale, Haverford, Franklin & Marshall and more! The coaching staff is full of dedicated mentors and passionate teachers of the game. Spring Tournaments
The Chapter Challenge™, a youth lacrosse festival for boys and girls that will features good competition, camaraderie and sportsmanship on the pristine and spacious grounds of the Brandywine Polo Club in Chester County. Features:
• Multiple Brackets / Festival Format: Each division will feature two or more brackets to help each team find the appropriate level of play for a great day of festival lacrosse.
• Club/Travel Teams: In 2015, the event is open to “Club” and “Travel Teams” looking for elite competition; we will field brackets based on interest.

All teams will play 3 games with certified officials on professionally-staged tournament fields in a festive setting. Athletic trainer(s) and an AED will be on site, as will an assortment of food/merchandise vendors. The event will be run by Heritage Lacrosse, which operates the Liberty Lacrosse Shootout™, Patriot Games™, The Match™ and other popular events.
Support the PLA: The Chapter Challenge™ is pleased to support the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association, the local chapter of US Lacrosse that promotes the game and provides programs and services to members of the lacrosse community in Eastern Pennsylvania.
THE CHALLENGE: As a key component of the “Challenge,” teams can help the PLA in two ways (they are not mandatory but we hope teams will support some worthy objectives): Challenge Partners: Each team is asked to make a contribution to the PLA (this is in addition to the registration fee and will inure entirely to the benefit of the PLA). The team can make the donation itself or arrange for a business or sponsor to make the donation to the PLA as the team’s “Challenge Partner.” Any donation is appreciated. All contributors and Challenge Partners will be recognized for their support on the Chapter Challenge™ and PLA websites and in a press release before and after the event; AND/OR
Stick Donations / HEADstring™ Initiative: Each team is asked to organize a used stick collection drive and to bring/donate the sticks to the event for drop off.
Goalie (boys, girls) Championships
GUARDIAN National Goalie Championship, July 27-30, Spooky Nook, Manheim (Lancaster) PA. This event will showcase and celebrate the best goalies nation-wide in a National Championship and will measure them based on the unique and patented Goaltender rating and classification system (GRC) for recruiting opportunities. Summer Tournament
Morey’s Piers Beach Lacrosse Tournament, for youth, high school and college teams on July 18-19 in the heart of the Wildwood beaches, N.J. This tournament gives lacrosse players of all ages a chance to enjoy the game in a new and exciting way. Teams from all over the East Coast and beyond compete on the beaches of Wildwood as well as enjoy the waterparks and beach during the day and the famous Wildwood boardwalk and amusements in the evening. The tournament offers participants and their families an exclusive discounted weekend package to Morey’s Piers Amusement Rides and Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis Waterparks and a delicious Saturday night picnic served at Rendezvous Beach Picnic Pavilion.Questions? Games are 5v5, 4 field players plus a goalie, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Each game will have two 18-minute halves with a 4-minute break. Each team will play a minimum of 3 games. Divisions will run from Boy’s & Girl’s U8 – U18, Men’s & Women’s Open. Beach Lacrosse is played with NO SHOES (except goalies).
Wristbands are valid for access to Raging Waters Waterpark and Ocean Oasis Waterpark and Beach Club, plus the amusement rides on all 3 Amusement Piers (daily wristband restrictions apply: go carts, SkyScraper, SkyCoaster, Climbing wall, Screamin’ Swing, High Flyer and Springshot are not included) all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday during operating hours.
