From Press Release
Freshman Jack Wilson and sophomore Greg Wozniak (Holy Ghost Prep) of the Boston University men’s lacrosse each team earned a Patriot League weekly honor, the conference office announced on Monday.
Wozniak was selected as Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week while Wilson was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week. Both athletes were instrumental in the Terriers’ 18-6 win over Mercer on Saturday night.
Wilson was the only Patriot League player to score five goals last weekend as he led an explosive Terrier attack. Two of his tallies were during man-up situations and he also collected a ground ball. Eight of his 13 shots were on target and he notched the Terriers’ first goal of the 2015 season.
Earning his first career weekly award from the Patriot League, Wozniak had a monster game for a Terrier defense that held Mercer to just one goal in the opening 30 minutes. He caused a game-high three turnovers and collected six ground balls. Wozniak also sparked a much-improved transition offense and added an assist to his impressive stat line.
BU will be back in action on Feb. 14 when the Terriers trek to Buffalo, New York, to face Canisius.
