What will you major in/study? Business
Why did you choose UNC? “Carolina is an incredible school academically and has a beautiful campus in Chapel Hill. Carolina has a proud women’s lacrosse program that I am so excited to play for in the future! Coach (Jenny) Levy is such an energetic and inspiring mentor and is committed to making her players the best they can be in pursuit of their goals on and off the field. The coaches and the team were so welcoming and supportive, and I knew in my heart it was where I wanted to be.”
Outlook for 2015 HS season? “Our team last season was the underdog in a ‘rebuilding” year,’ but we improved with every game and made it to the State Quarterfinals, losing in a heartbreaker to the eventual state champions. This year there is no shortage of talent and we have some great senior leadership. We have great coaches to guide us and we have all been working hard in the off-season. We are looking forward to the challenge of a tough schedule and amazing competition. Our hopes are high.”
Thank You: “First, I’d like to thank my family and friends for their love and support through this entire process; they all know it was crazy. Most importantly I’d like to thank my father for everything he has done for me. I would not be the player that I am today if it weren’t for him. I’d also like to thank my mom for being so positive and encouraging throughout this process and for driving me to practices, games, tournaments, and visits constantly!
“I’d like to thank my Phantastix coaches for giving insightful information about different schools and for helping to put me in contact with coaches. A special thanks to Coach Beers for putting up with my shenanigans on and off the field. Another big thank you to my high school coaches, Amy Orcutt, Meaghan McDugall, Samantha Murphy, Allegra Gerhardt and Jaclyn Klunder.
“Finally, a big thank you to all my teammates who have provided lasting memories and great support.”
Other schools considered: University of Virginia, Boston College, Penn State, and Duke
