Host La Salle took an early six-goal lead and never looked back in a 17-5 dismantling of LIU Brooklyn (0-1) in the season opener on Monday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.
Caitlyn Brostrand (Camden Catholic) led the La Salle attack with five goals and one assist. Katelyn Fay (Henderson) and Kelly Furman (Boyertown) added hat tricks with three goals and one assist apiece. Claire Andrews also added four points on one goal and three assists.
Rookie keeper Gabby Antonelli got the start in her collegiate debut, making seven saves while yielding just four goals.
Marist 10, Lafayette 8
Laura Kleiber led the way offensively for the Leopards scoring four goals and adding an assist, while freshman Kirsten Wilhelmsen (Strath Haven) tallied a pair of goals and an assist in her first collegiate game. Freshmen Amanda Case (Haverford High) and Alexis Thompson also scored for the Leopards. Ana White (Strath Haven) added eight draw controls.
