West Chester Lacrosse Association (501c-3) is pleased to announce that Dan Deckelbaum has joined the program as Boys’ Director of Lacrosse.
In this newly created role, Deckelbaum will oversee all aspects of the boys’ program (U7 – U15) and work with the Board of Directors, Age Specific Directors, and coaches to ensure that the program continues to be an elite program in Pennsylvania with the goal of being recognized nationally.
Deckelbaum is originally from Baltimore where he started playing lacrosse at 5 years old. He moved on from Owings Mills High School and played collegiate lacrosse at the University of Delaware where he was a four year starting midfielder and helped his team reach the NCAA Final 4 in his final year, 2007. At Delaware, he majored in Health & Exercise Science and is now a licensed personal trainer. He moved on to play professionally in both the National Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse.
Deckelbaum began his coaching career in 2008 at his alma mater, where he served as a volunteer Assistant Coach. He moved on to Tower Hill High School in Delaware where they won a state championship in his final year. He currently is an assistant coach for Avon Grove High School’s Varsity program (2013 & 2014 District 1 Champions) where he currently focuses on the offense. In addition to his high school and college coaching experience, he has also coached youth lacrosse with the Delaware Dragons and high school players for two elite programs, the Duke’s Lacrosse Club and NXT Lacrosse Club. Deckelbaum also runs Elevated Lacrosse & PT, a personal training and small group skills, speed, agility and strength program, which will be integrated into West Chester’s program offering.
Deckelbaum is a licensed realtor in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and resides in Wilmington, DE with his wife and daughter.

The program strives to provide a safe, fun, and positive environment to develop lacrosse skills for beginner through advanced players.
