Saint Joseph’s senior Nora McGeever (Drexel Hill, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and juniors Bianca Angstadt (Wyomissing, Pa./Berks Catholic) and Courtney Emanuele (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) have been selected the Hawks’ tri-captains for the 2015 women’s lacrosse season, as both voted on by their teammates and named by their coaches.
McGeever, a senior goalkeeper out of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, is one of two seniors on this year’s squad and returns for her second year in the captaincy role, having been the only junior captain in 2014. A standout leader on Hawk Hill, McGeever was selected to serve on the Presidential Search Committee at Saint Joseph’s this year. She is a two-year member of Developing Everyday Champions and is actively involved with the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee and Food Marketing Association. Additionally, she has been involved with the Winter Immersion Program to El Paso, Texas and weekly service with the 802 Outreach Program.
Angstadt saw action in 11 games with two starts last season and registered 10 points on nine goals and an assist. The junior attack out of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania owns 21 points on 19 goals and 2 assists entering her third year.
A junior midfielder out of Hillsborough, New Jersey, Emanuele appeared in all 16 games last season with seven starts in the midfield to post eight total points on three goals and five assists. Emanuele owns 10 career points on four goals and six assists through two seasons.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Alex Kahoe, Saint Joseph’s opens the 2015 season on Saturday, February 14 when it hosts Temple on Sweeney Field.
