Public League girls’ championship: Pina scores seven goals to lead Girls’ High past Northeast, 10-9

Tenee Pina pumped in seven goals Wednesday to lead Girls’ High to a 10-9 victory over Northeast in the Public league championship game at Northeast SuperSite.

Pina’s effort gave Girls’ High its fourth straight championship victory. It also was the league’s first champion in 2010 when no title game was held.

Girls’ High (15-0) will face Catholic League champion Archbishop Carroll for the District 12 title today at Northeast at 3:30 p.m. The winner moves to the PIAA tournament.

LaPorsha Nixon added one goal and one assist and Diante R.S. also scored for Girls’ High. A 10th goal scored off the Northeast goalie and no scorer was named.

For Northeast (8-4), Amy Kao and Sofiya Bobrouvnik each scored twice while Kim Sloane, Camilla Fernandez, Kim Ngyuen, Andrea Grajales and Ancy John each scored once.
