The win advances the Lions (22-1) to the state quarterfinals Saturday against La Salle at a site and time to be determined.

Will Manganiello added three goals and an asisst and Ryan Kinnard scored twice for Penncrest, which led, 8-3, at one point and never allowed Shanahan to draw even.

“We capitalized on our opportunities,” said Penncrest coach Wayne Matsinger. “We had some nice looks and Bonnett took advantage of some multiple slide situations”

Alex Wagner scored four goals for the Eagles (18-3), who fell twice to Penncrest this year.

Avon Grove 9, Hershey 8

Tanner Peck scored off an Eric Russo assist with 34 seconds left to lift the District 1 champion Devils (18-4) to a tight win over the third-place team from District 3 at Henderson’s J. Oscar Dicks Stadium.

David Sickler’s goal for Hershey (20-4) had tied it with 2:01 left. The Trojans later had the apparent go-ahead strike disallowed on a crease violation, and the Red Devils regained possession and eventually got the ball to Peck (two goals).

The victory sends the Devils into the state quarterfinals Saturday vs. Wilson West Lawn at a site and time to be determined. Wilson advanced with a 13-7 victory over Emmaus.

Stephen Cyron led Avon Grove with three goals whole Ryan Cook scored twice and Will Schreiner had 11 saves.

Radnor 8, Carlisle 5

Jack Norton had three goals and Tom Meyers won 11 of 17 face-offs to lead the Raiders (16-5) into the quarterfinals Saturday against Lewisburg, a 10-9 OT winner over Delaware Valley.
