The Agnes Irwin School

Head Coach: Jenny Duckenfield, 2nd year


Last year’s record: 13-9, 6-6 Inter-Ac, 3rd place Inter-Ac, Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Semi-Finalist

Key returning players: Senior attacker Bridget Chakey (Syracuse), senior Defender Elizabeth Spitz (Wesleyan College), sophomore attacker Hannah Keating, sophomore midfielders Laura Pansini and Kristin Burnetta, sophomore defenders Kate White and Sarah Platt. In goal for the Owls, sophomore Caroline Roncalli.

Other Players to watch: Junior Emma Hill, sophomore Emily Fryer, and freshman newcomer Alicia O’Neil
Former 8th grade Varsity players returning as freshman: Lila Barker, Daniela Wright, Olivia Carey, and Emmie Kiely.

Coach’s Outlook: “In 2014, I expect every player on this team to play to their potential, regardless of their graduation year. We are sophomore strong and we have added some of the top teams in the region to our schedule. We will work hard to compete for an Inter-Ac title.”

William Penn Charter School

Head Coach: Alex Casey, 1st year

Last year’s record: 7-10

Key returning players: Leigh Steinberg (midfielder) and Avery Shoemaker (midfielder).

Coach’s Outlook: “There are a lot of new starters and we are excited to see who steps up. We compete in a tough league but are confident and looking forward to a good season.”
