Starting at 8am and finishing up past 6pm was not an easy task. It, however, was well worth it after the Freedom 2021 team won the championship at the Brandywine Classic at the Brandywine Polo Grounds this past weekend.

The team played a very unselfish game offensively with over 80% of the goals being assisted. Also, a staunch defense allowed only 14 goals over 6 games. Jayden Rowe, PJ Oppenheimer, Braeden Lange, Dylan McMahon, Owen Mehock, Luke Wetzel, Hayden Quillman, Colby Riddell, Will Delaney, Justin Sanelli, Jack Giles, Sam Forte, & LSM Egan Butala led an offense that scored a tourney-high 44 goals.

Defensively, the Freedom squad was anchored by tremendous goalie play from Tommy O’Malley and Ben Tompkins as well as the tenacious defense of JD Shimer, Drew Deves, Sam Morin, Aiden Welsh, Luke Shoemaker, & Aiden Coulter.

The boys beat Chaos, Roughriders, Brotherhood and Looney’s to go undefeated in pool play. Then they knocked off Brotherhood in the semi-finals and came away with an 11-5 victory over Looney’s in the Championship Game. Goals were scored in the final by PJ Oppenheimer, Jayden Rowe, Braeden Lange, Dylan McMahon, Sam Forte, Jack Giles, Justin Sanelli, Colby Riddell, & Hayden Quillman in very well balanced offensive attack.

The team is coached by Scott Lange, Scott McMahon, Paul Butala and Patrick Coulter

The Freedom 2020 Red team made it to the Championships at the Brandywine Classic but came up short losing 6-5 to Looney’s. The boys went 5-1 on the day scoring 69 goals with 13 goals against. Great day for everyone.
