“We are excited about the challenges that lie ahead in our 2015 schedule,” said Murphy, whose program ended the 2014 regular season with the No. 3 strength of schedule nationally after boasting the No. 2 SOS in 2013 and the No. 1 SOS in 2012. “We will play top teams from the top conferences nationally, as well as our Philadelphia rivals. We have lofty goals as a program, both on the field and off it, and it is appropriate that our schedule reflects that.”

Penn’s schedule features four teams that participated in last year’s NCAA Championship, including a road trip to Maryland which reached the semifinal round a year ago.

Penn will have its earliest start to a season ever, and the Quakers will play a record four games in the month of February after having never played more than two in that month. The campaign faces off on Valentine’s Day — Saturday, Feb. 14 — when the Red and Blue host UMBC at 1:00 p.m. Penn then travels to Saint Joseph’s (Tuesday, Feb. 17); Maryland (Tuesday, Feb. 24); and Penn State (Saturday, Feb. 28) before the calendar turns to March.

Penn will close out the early four-game road swing at Lafayette (Tuesday, March 3) before returning home to play a pair of rivalry games. The first comes against local rival Villanova (Saturday, March 7) and the second opens up the Ivy League campaign as the Quakers host Princeton (Saturday, March 14). Both of those games will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Franklin Field.

The Villanova and Princeton games kick off a stretch in which Penn plays eight consecutive Saturdays without a midweek interruption. Following their game with the Tigers, the Quakers travel to Cornell (March 21), then host Yale a week later (March 28) with faceoff being 3:00 p.m. That is followed by consecutive trips to New England to face Brown (April 4) and Harvard (April 11), and then Penn closes out the Ivy League portion of its schedule with a home game against Dartmouth (April 18) that faces off at noon.

A major highlight on the schedule, of course, is the already-announced regular season finale. Penn will play the fifth-place ACC team as part of the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which takes place April 24-26 at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. (PPL Park is the home to Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union.) Penn’s game will take place on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for that game can be purchased by clicking here.

Once again this year, the top four teams in the Ivy League standings at the end of the regular season with play in the Ivy League Tournament, which will run May 1 and 3 at the home of the regular-season champion.

First-round NCAA Championship play begins May 9 and 10, with quarterfinal games taking place May 16 in Denver and May 17 in Annapolis, Md. The annual NCAA Championship Weekend will run Memorial Day weekend, May 23 and 25, at Lincoln Financial Field here in Philadelphia (the first of two consecutive years it will be held here in Philly).
