Greg Price and Michael Major, teammates since they first played together in second grade, will be Northeast Conference rivals when they get to college.
Price, who will head to Sacred Heart University, and Major, who will play collegiately at St. Joe’s University, signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday afternoon at a ceremony at Holy Ghost Prep. The two have played together for 10 years, through Lower Bucks Lacrosse and with Twist Lacrosse and finally Holy Ghost.
“I am grateful not only for their skills but also the leadership they provide for our program,” says HGP head coach Ryan Tessler. “They represent everything Holy Ghost Prep is about when it comes to being a student-athlete. Both Sacred Heart and SJU are getting solid young men who will contribute to their winning tradition.”
Both players have been starters since freshman year with the Firebirds, and both were second-team All-Phillylacrosse.com selections a year ago after helping Ghost to the first District I tournament win in program history.
Price, a goalie, has a career .631 save percentage, a 6.95 career goals-against average and 635 saves in 2,569 career minutes. Major has 127 career goals and 55 career assists, including 55 goals and 17 assists as a junior.
