Collegiate School (VA) rising junior goalie Jack Rusbuldt has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Penn State University.
Jack Rusbuldt log:
High School: Collegiate School, VA
Graduation Year: 2016
Position: Goalie
College Choice: Penn State (ConnectLAX college profile)
Club Affiliation: Amped Lax
Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Maverik Showtime All Star, Nike Blue Chip, Gait Cup All Star
Why did you choose school? “First of all, the coaching staff and players I met were very impressive and Penn State has a history of producing some of the very best goalies. Coach (Jeff) Tambroni sets a high bar for his players both on and off the field. And I definitely wanted a top academic school with a strong overall athletic program and a commitment to playing for a lacrosse national championship…and a Big Ten championship.”
Outlook for your High School team? “I think we’ll be solid. We return a lot of players and we have good chemistry and leadership. Lacrosse in Virginia is getting better and better every year, so nothing will come easy, but we should be in a position to compete for the top spot.”
Other comments: “I want to thank my mom and dad for all they’re doing to help me accomplish my goals in lacrosse. And my brother, Chris, who has been my best friend and mentor (he’ll be a junior attackman for Washington & Lee). Lastly, I’m not sure where I’d be without some great coaches: Andrew Stanley, Michael Leahy, Spotty Robins, Matt Chriss, James Ireland, Mikey Thompson, and Rodney Rullman.”
Other schools considered: Notre Dame, Princeton, Cornell
