Mesa Fresh Lacrosse Club was founded in 2007 by Bob Aitken with the intent to showcase high school lacrosse players that are highly skilled but are also of high character. The 2015 Team certainly delivered on that mission.

The team was originally formed in 2009 with local players from SEPYLA and CCYLA. They played in many of the top tournaments across the country taking on the best competition. The Mesa 2015’s posted an overall record of 74 wins 2 ties and 8 losses. The team concluded its run with by winning the inaugural Inside Lacrosse Invitational on June 18th in Baltimore.

“When you start with 8th grade boys it is hard to know how they are going to develop over time but this group was special from the start,” said Head Coach Peter Rohr. “They always worked hard and continued to improve and played a very unselfish style of lacrosse, trusting each other and having fun.”

They won some of the most prestigious events nationwide including The Dick’s Sporting Goods National Championship, Inside Lacrosse Invitational, U Del MVP, Brine Lava Lax, Tri State Laxgiving, Pumpkin Pie and Warrior Fall Ball. They placed in at least the top three in every event they entered and were considered one of the top 2015 teams in the country.

The roster is filled with Division 1 & 3 committed players and multi-sport stars. Midfielder Drew Supinski said, “We really tried to play unselfish lacrosse and move the ball, never relying on any one player. The coaches call it Mesa Ball and we had a lot of success with that style, and it was really fun too.”

Jack Twohig added, “We all became really good friends over the years and enjoyed playing together; I will miss playing with these guys.”

Coach Mark Aitken added, “I am most proud of the effort they gave and the way they carried themselves as young men, it was a really fun run.” Brad Ament said, “We had a very supportive sponsor in Mesa Fresh and made sure we represented them with class.”
