Garnet Valley High School 2016 defender Kylie Young has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Lafayette College.
Kylie Young ledger:
High School: Garnet Valley High School
Graduation Year: 2016
College Choice: Lafayette College
Club Affiliation: PA Express Orange
Lacrosse Honors: National Tournament 2014, PA State Champs 2014
What will you major in/study? Economics, Biology
Why did you choose Lafayette? “I chose Lafayette because it has excellent academics and is a great place for a student athlete. I felt like I connected well with Coach (Alison) Fisher and Coach (Ana) White, as well as the girls on the team. I immediately fell in love with the campus and everything else Lafayette has to offer.”
Outlook for 2015 HS season? “Although we’ve lost several of our senior starters from our state championship team last year, a core group of strong players remain and we have a great group of underclassmen who are ready to step up. Our goal remains the same as last year-winning a state championship.”
Thank You: “First I would like to thank my parents for always supporting me throughout my lacrosse career and for driving me all over the East Coast for a different tournament every weekend. I’d like to thank my dad especially for coaching me and developing me as a player.
“I’d like to thank my PA Express coaches, Joanne Tabor and Kelee O’Malley, for everything that they’ve done for me over the past several years.
“Additionally, I would like to thank my high school coach, Jenny Purvis, for all of her support.
“Finally, I would like to thank my Garnet Valley and PA Express teammates for pushing me to be my best and for always making practice something to look forward to.”
