Delaware Valley College head men’s lacrosse coach Gary Mercadante has announced the first schedule in program history with competition beginning in March of 2015.
Mercadante and a roster of about 35 players will embark on a 13-game season that includes seven home contests. The Aggies will take the field for the first time on Wednesday, March 4 (7:00 p.m.) when they host Immaculata University under the lights at Robert A. Lipinski Field at James Work Memorial Stadium.
Delaware Valley will follow with six additional non-conference games, including home tilts against Rosemont College (Saturday, March 14), Hood College (Saturday, March 21) and Bryn Athyn College (Wednesday, March 25).
The Aggies will make their Freedom Conference debut on Thursday, April 2 with a trip to Purchase, New York and a meeting with Manhattanville College. From there, it’s all conference action with home contests against FDU-Florham (April 8), Misericordia University (April 11) and DeSales University (April 25) and road showings at Eastern University (April 15) and King’s College (April 18).
The Freedom Conference tournament begins with the semifinals on Wednesday, April 29. The Freedom Conference Championships Game, with a berth to the NCAA Division III playoffs on the line, is slated for Saturday, May 2.
