Boys’ lacrosse: @SHBoysLacrosse wins in ‘Play for the As’ benefit game

Tucker Carney had three goals and two assists and freshman Jack Borbee had the game-winner with one minute to play as host Strath Haven defeated Henderson, 11-9, tonight in the Second Annual “Play for the As” benefit game.

The game and overall event was created to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s and Autism. The Strath Haven boys’ team raised over $4,000 for the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in support of research toward a cure, as well as support for caregivers of those affected by this debilitating disease.

The Strath Haven girls’ team also raised money for groups supporting people with autism.

In tonight’s game – which drew a spirited crowd of followers and Strath Haven alums – freshman Hunter Mazur won 13 of 16 face-offs and scored once while Jake Ross and Bryan Mizell each had two goals for the Panthers (4-5).

For Henderson (5-7), Cody Pascale had three goals and two assists and Jake McGowan scored three goals.
