From Press Release
This second annual event is part of the ongoing community service efforts of boys lacrosse program and brings together the future and present of boys’ lacrosse in the Lower Merion Community.
The event will feature special guest, Katie Samson, who will be speaking to the Harriton and Ashbee parents about her efforts to raise awareness on positive activities for those that sustain spinal cord injuries. The players will be accepting donations at the clinic and selling raffle tickets to raise funds for the Katie Samson Foundation. (www.katiesamsonlaxfest.com). Suggested donations are $20 per clinic participant.
Harriton Boys’ Team will be playing The Shipley School at 9 am, Saturday, April 26th on the Loop Field as part of the 14th Annual Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival.
More than a dozen Harriton lacrosse players actively volunteer as Head and Assistant coaches in the house leagues and clinics, usually after they finish their own games and practices during the busy Spring Season.
Clinic Director, Bill Bernicker, noted, “With nearly 200 boys signed up for house and clinic leagues this year, we rely heavily on the High School players to make this a great experience for the families. This year we are truly excited to have Harriton Head Coach, Joe Proud, as the Program Director of the House and Clinic leagues; creating a solid foundation of instruction that will teach key lacrosse fundamentals.”
