Notre Dame High School (NJ) 2015 defenseman-LSM Steven Horvath has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Delaware Valley College.
Steven Horvath log:
High School: Notre Dame High School (NJ)
Graduation Year: 2015
Position: Defence/LSM
College Choice: Delaware Valley College
Club Affiliation: New Jersey Lacrosse Club (NJLC)
Lacrosse Honors: Legacy Tournament runner up, Meltdown Tournament runner up
What will you major in/study? Environmental Science
Why did you choose Del-Val? “Delaware Valley College met or exceeded each and everything I was looking for in my college search. Having a passion for the environment, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Environmental Science, which is one of the majors offered at DelVal. Another component of my college experience is to play lacrosse at a high level. DelVal is building a program under Coach (Gary) Mercadante that faces-off the school’s inaugural season in the spring of 2015. I want to be part of growing the success of the team to a nationally recognized program in my four years. DelVal provides a rural setting an hour away from my home.”
Outlook for your High School 2015 season? “Notre Dame High School is looking forward to being a force, not only in Mercer County, but also at the State level this season.
“We were recently introduced to our new head coach, Michael Anderson who brings enthusiasm and a love of the game to our school.
“The team will be lead by our attack and goalie. Our midfielders are young yet they have exceptional talent and most of all a desire to win. Defensively, we have senior experience and a strong junior presence that will make it tough on offenses to score.”
Thank You: “I have been incredibly fortunate to attend Notre Dame High School over the past four years. The administration, faculty and athletic departments have all been there for me at every turn, with support and encouragement. Besides my football, wrestling, and lacrosse teammates, who are extensions of my family, I have made many lifelong friends at Notre Dame. Although I will miss all of my high school experiences, I am looking forward to the new and exciting opportunities that await me at Delaware Valley College and helping start up a lacrosse program that will no doubt be in the NCAA tournament in its first few seasons.”
