With the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team deep into fall practice, the Mountain Hawks will take part in several fall events beginning Oct. 3 and continuing with events on the 12th and Oct. 25-26. Lehigh is eying the spring season as the Mountain Hawks are eying their third Patriot League Championship (and NCAA Tournament berth) in the last four years.
The fall schedule begin with the program’s annual Community Night on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. followed by a Brown/White intrasquad scrimmage at 7:30. Both events will take place on Banko Field at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
Lehigh will head to the Capital Lacrosse Invitational on Oct. 12 to face Cornell and Richmond. Other teams competing in the tournament are Georgetown, Penn State and UMBC.
The Third Annual Capital Lacrosse Invitational is a premier college fall-ball lacrosse tournament to support and promote the Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation and its mission of “empowering the next generation through academics and athletics.”
The foundation honors the memory of Mario St. George Boiardi, a selfless leader and loyal friend who lost his life in March 2004 while playing lacrosse, the game he loved. The foundation’s mission is to carry on George’s work by empowering the next generation through academics and athletics.
The fall schedule wraps up on the weekend of Oct. 25-26. Saturday the 25th features an Alumni Game (alums vs. alums) at 10 a.m. On Sunday, the Mountain Hawks will celebrate the 2014 season which featured a 13-5 record and third straight trip to the Patriot League Championship Game. The team awards banquet will begin at 11 a.m. in the Wood Dining Room at Iacocca Hall.
