The American Indoor Lacrosse Association has announced that its is sending three youth programs from New Jersey and Philly to Canada to play in the second annual Junior NLL Tournament, which features 21 youth teams representing eight NLL franchises. The indoor Junior NLL Tournament will be played at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) in Oakville, Ontario from today until Sunday.
This year’s tournament, again hosted by the Toronto Rock, has grown significantly with the addition of Midget (U17) competition to the Peewee (U13) and Bantam (U15) divisions that battled for supremacy a year ago.
“American Indoor Lacrosse is proud of the teams assembled and we look forward to a great experience for these kids,” said AILA president Johnny Mouradian. “We have selected a strong group of kids from South and North New Jersey and the Philly Suburbs.”
In addition to the Junior Wings, the Buffalo Bandits, Colorado Mammoth, Edmonton Rush, Minnesota Swarm, Rochester Knighthawks, Vancouver Stealth, and the Toronto Rock will be represented across Peewee, Bantam & Midget teams in the competition. The teams will follow NLL playing rules in a family-friendly environment with plenty of NLL players, coaches and staff expected to be in attendance.
Fans will be able to watch select games from the tournament live online at www.webcastsports.net, courtesy of JVI Video Production. The full broadcast schedule is attached for the Labor Day weekend event.
