Club Tryouts, Openings
Rising Sons Lacrosse, a areas premier year round youth lacrosse program, will be holding three preliminary evaluations for its 2020 AA Travel Team for Fall of 2014 through Summer of 2015. The official tryout for the 2020 AA team will be in late August. These preliminary evaluations enable our coaches and evaluators to identify elite talent during these three two-hour sessions. Although not mandatory, these evaluations are highly recommended for those interested in becoming a Son. Evaluations will be on July 1st, July 16th and August 4th. All sessions will be at Malvern Prep turf stadium from 6pm-8pm. Please use this link to register for the 1st session on July 1.
The NXT Bandits will host tryouts to fill their youth teams that vary from third to eighth grade, in addition to a ninth and 10th grade team, Saturdays Sept. 7 and 14 at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. The NXT Bandits follow a year-round model that features both field and box lacrosse training. The teams will have three box lacrosse practices and will take part in NXT’s Holiday Indoor Tournament and the Philadelphia Indoor Lacrosse Championship, in addition to four winter skills sessions at SCH. From a field lacrosse aspect, the NXT Bandits will have four fall practices and be a part of the fall NXT Play Day. The teams will participate in 10 summer practices, including a NXT Play Day, and will also compete in three or four events in the summer. The NXT Bandits will also have faceoff and goalie specialist coaches available to them year-round.

St. Joseph’s Men’s Last Chance Showcase, Rising High School Sophomores Through Seniors (Class of 2015, 2016, 2017), August 3rd, 9am – 4pm. Price: $135. The Last Chance Showcase is an opportunity to for high school players to get one final look before the end of the summer recruiting period. With the NCAA recruiting quiet period beginning the day after camp, this is literally your “Last Chance” to be seen before summer recruiting screeches to a halt. This event is designed for elite players who have a specific interest in SJU, or simply those who simply want to get in front of college coaches one more time before the end of the season. The camp will be staffed entirely with DI, DII and DIII coaches who are looking for one more glimpse of high school talent before the start of the school year.

NXTsports’ Cradle Lacrosse (fun co-ed beginner training for boys and girls aged 4 to 8) is proud to announce its locations this fall. Tower Hill School (Del.), St. Augustine Prep (N.J.) and Upper St. Clair High School (Pa.) have been added as new locations, while Cradle will continue to feature its in-state programming at United Sports, Radnor Memorial Park, Germantown Academy and Middletown Community Park (Bucks County).

The National Showcase, an elite boys’ recruiting event for players in the Class of 2016, 2017 and 2018, has opened its registration. The showcase, run by Victory Event Series and recent National Coach of the Year John Nostrant (Haverford School), will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Avon Grove High School in West Grove. This one-day event will give the Top Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors players in the country an opportunity to demonstrate their talents in front of premier college lacrosse programs while learning new techniques/skills that they can apply to their game. Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse Camps is offering nine camps for boys and girls aged 7 and up this summer, mostly in Delaware and in South Jersey. Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse Camps are the premier lacrosse education day camp in the Delaware Valley. Designed for boys and girls ages 7 and up, as old as those entering senior year in HS, looking for improvement with all lacrosse skills, concepts, and strategy at each position on the field. We welcome all skill levels at our camps and, when appropriate, will separate campers by age, ability, and/or preferred position.

American Indoor Lacrosse Association Integrated Academies for Summer of 2014. the camps feature AILA’s In|Crosse System, developed by AILA President and Philadelphia Wing’s GM Johnny Mouradian. In|Crosse education and training, AILA’s proprietary system leverages the integration and convergence of the indoor version of lacrosse with the field game. The cutting edge program teaches bio-mechanics, principles, strategies and tactics of indoor lacrosse taking advantage of the several features like small goals (4’x 4’9), 30 second shot clock, five on five lacrosse, players learn to play offense and defense, to name a few skills. The academies are for players from 3rd grade through players heading into college.

Black Bear Lacrosse 2014 summer camps. Black Bear Lacrosse has been providing expert instruction and training at camps and clinics for over a decade.
