For the second straight year, Twist ended its season with a one-goal loss to the eventual champion at Hotbeds. Unlike last year, when Twist reached the final and lost in a Braveheart, this time Twist fell 9-8 to Carolina Elite in the first round of the playoffs and then saw Carolina Elite win three more games to win the championship.

The final matched unbeatens Carolina Elite and Team Minnesota 2016, both of whom had one-goal wins over Twist, who lost to TM in a Braveheart during pool play.

Twist lost its opener, also by a single goal, to the Long Island Sting and then the Braveheart to Team Minnesota before ripping off five straight wins including two shutouts to get to the playoffs, which featured the top 16 teams in the 78-team field.

The playoff game against Carolina Elite was tied at 5-5 before Carolina went on a 4-0 run to go up 9-5. Twist battled back behind two goals from Michael Major (Holy Ghost Prep) and one from Aidan Kerrigan (La Salle) with 40 seconds to go make it a one-goal game, but Carolina won the face-off and ran out the clock.

With one consolation game left, Twist defeated Tar Heel Lax 9-5 as Matt Vetter (Central Bucks East) scored five goals and Matt Brown (Central Bucks East) added two. Twist had trailed 4-1 in that game before scoring eight of the final nine.

Vetter led Twist in goals (17) and assists (11) in the tournament and made the 2015 all-star game, as did defenseman Jackson Ehlert (Exeter HS), who led Twist with 13 caused turnovers while picking up 20 ground balls in the nine games. Kerrigan and Major had 13 goals each in the tournament.

Face-off men Nolan Little (Downingtown East) and Jack Auteri (Central Bucks East) combined to win 85 of 135 face-offs (63%). Goalies Greg Price (Holy Ghost Prep) and Ian Davies (Germantown Academy) combined for a 4.40 goals-against and a .661 save percentage in the nine games.

The Battle of the Hotbeds was the final summer tournament for this Twist group, the majority of whom have been playing together for five summers, since they finished seventh grade. During those five years, Twist went 121-29-2.

There were six players who played on the team starting in 2009: Vetter, Price, Matthew Anderson (Pennsbury), Jake Henze (Central Bucks South), Connor Howell (Wilson West Lawn) and Kevin Witchey (Central Bucks South). Vetter and Price played on the team in 2008, and Price played in all 202 Twist games since, going 156-44-2. Howell led the team in career goals (164) and career assists (131) for 295 points, while Vetter was also over the 200-point mark, with 113 goals and 114 assists for 227 points.

Twist went 21-8 this year and won the championship of the Rising Senior AA division at Tri-State. Vetter led the team in scoring with 44 goals and 29 assists for 73 points, followed by Major with 42 goals and 53 points.
