Boys’ roundup: Shanahan clinches title, Springfield-Delco downs U. Dublin, La Salle finishes undefeated in Catholic League

Alex Wagner had four goals and three assists and John Mehok scored four goals as host Bishop Shanahan routed West Chester East, 20-5 tonight to clinch the Ches-Mont League championship outright.

The Eagles (14-1) closed a 10-0 league season. They tied for the title last year with three other teams – the first league title in school history.

Dylan Alderman added three goals and two assists and Eric Giannetti had three goals and an assist for Shanahan.

Springfield-Delco 8, Upper Dublin 3

The Cougars (13-3) won a key gave for District 1 seeding as Lucas Spence had three goals and two assists and younger brother James Spence made 10 saves.

Michael Sowers had two goals and an assist for the Suburban One American Conference champion Cards (15-3).

La Salle 12, Archbishop Wood 6

Trent Melsheimer scored three goals and Mitch Soufleris added two goals and two assists while Anthony Guiliani dominated at the face-off X to help the visiting Explorers defeat Wood.

The win gave the Explorers (11-6 overall) a final perfect 10-0 record in the Catholic league. La Salle has the No. 1 seed in the Catholic League tourney and a first-round bye. It will open play next Friday at home.

Chris Hladczuk and Brett Baskin each added two goals and Zach Drake had a goal and two assists for the Explorers while Colin MacDougall posted six saves.
