Once was great, but twice as nice is even better.
NXTsports is thrilled to announce that NXT and the Philadelphia Phillies have reached an agreement to bring the Philly Charity Showdown back to Citizens Bank Park for the second consecutive year.
The fifth annual Philly Charity Showdown will take place Friday, November 14, 2014, and will kick off Philly Showcase weekend, the nation’s biggest lacrosse recruiting weekend.
Last year’s Philly Charity Showdown marked the first lacrosse games to ever be played at Citizens Bank Park, the legendary home of the Phillies. The event was a massive success, raising more than $30,000 to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Minds Matter Initiative, which focuses on youth concussion research, awareness and care.
“NXT is extremely grateful to the Philadelphia Phillies for working with us to bring the Philly Charity Showdown back to Citizens Bank Park in support of this great cause. The chance to play in Citizens Bank Park is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a lot of these kids,” Director of Showcase Lacrosse Brett Manney said. “This year, NXT strives to include as many local players as possible.”
Additional details about the Philly Charity Showdown, including the schedule and lineup of participating teams, will be announced over the next month. Information on ticket sales and VIP packages will be announced in mid-September. Location is subject to favorable weather conditions.
