Monday’s HS highlights: Springfield-Delco tops Radnor to clinch Central League title for enncrest; Garnet Valley edges Ridley

Dan Wasson game winner with 38 seconds left Monday to lift Springfield-Delco to an 8-6 victory over visiting Radnor, helping Penncrest clinch outright the Central League boys’ lacrosse championship.

The loss dropped Radnor (12-3 overall) to 8-2 in the league. First-place Penncrest, which closes today at Conestoga, is 10-0.

The Cougars (12-3, 7-3) trailed 6-5 before Dennis Charamella scored from from Lucas Spence to tie it up late in the game. Spence (four goals, one assist) also scored in the final seconds to ice it.

James Spence had eight saves for the Cougars

Jack Norton and Jack Wilson each had a goal and two assists for Radnor.

Garnet Valley 5, Ridley 4

Jacob Buttermore (two goals, two assists) scored with 43 seconds left to lift the Jags Garnet Valley (10-4, 7-3) to a come-form behind win in the Central League.

Garnet Valley rallied from a 4-2 deficit on goals by Christian Portale and Matt Moore with less than four minutes to play.

Brock Anderson had two goals for the Green Raiders.

Cheltenham 7, Truman 5

David Pretsch had five goals and Thomas Hipwell added two goals and won 10 of 15 face-offs while david Friedman made 12 saves to lead the Panthers to their first win of the season on Senior Night.

Haverford School 11, La Salle 3

The Fords got two goals and an assist from Drew Supinski, two goals from Forry Smith and a goal and three assists from Grant Ament to claim the non-league win.
