Rachel Hughes notched the game-winner with five minutes left as host Unionville claimed an 8-7 victory over Patterson Mill (MD) Saturday in non-league girls’ lacrosse.

The Indians improved to 1-2 after a tough overtime loss to Bishop Shanahan.

“This was a really big win for us,” said Unionville coach Wendy Landry. “In our last game we didn’t start playing until five minutes remained in the game. This time we fell behind, but the girls really picked it up and showed me something.”
