Drexel’s Shafer named CAA Co-Rookie of Week

Drexel’s Cole Shafer has been named this week’s Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Week.

Shafer, at attackman, made his debut a memorable one. He scored four goals, including three straight at one point, in the Dragons 11-10 loss against No. 7 Virginia on Saturday afternoon. It was his first collegiate game.

Shafer shared the award with UMass freshman Nick Variano. The Dragons are back in action on Saturday at No. 11 Albany.
