Brayden Sauerbier

High School: Tahoma Senior High School, Washington

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Midfield

College choice: Eastern University

Club Affiliations: Seattle Starz, South Sound Starz

Major lacrosse honors: Good to Great Showcase, Vancouver Junior Stealth Elite Team

What will you major in/study? Finance

Why did you choose Eastern? “I chose Eastern University because of Coach (Kevin) Wallace, honestly. He made me feel like I was apart of his team from the moment I stepped on the campus in Pennsylvania. The team is a great bunch of guys as well and they all get along and have great attitudes. EU is a team that is on the rise and I know I can contribute to the team’s success. The next few years.”

Outlook for your High School team? “We are a young team, but we have a lot of talent. There are five seniors including myself that are the leaders of the team. We are darkhorses here in Washington and are looking to make some noise.”

Thank You: “I want to thank multiple people: Dan and Tori, my loving parents, without their love and support, I wouldn’t be achieving my dreams.

“Lewis Ratcliff, he always knew what to say to me to get the best out of me and took me under his wing. He is always reaching out to me and looking to practice with me, he showed me what work ethic is needed to be successful.

“Vern Smith, Brian Johnson, and Nick Johnson, my varsity coaches. They took a chance letting a skinny little Freshman play varsity lacrosse and without their belief and trust in me I would not be successful.

“And lastly, Gordon MacIlvennie. I have grown extremely close the the whole MacIlvennie family, especially their son, Colin, who is going to be playing at Maryland next year. Gordon was my first ever lacrosse coach in sixth grade and was one of the best coaches I have ever had. Without his support and guidance, I would not be the player I am today.”
