Sean McKee

High School: Penn Charter

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Goalie

College Choice: Fairfield University

Club Affiliation: Mesa Fresh, Phillie Elite

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity starter as Freshman, Nike Blue Chip, Tournament All-Star at MVP tournament, Dicks tournament national champion.

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose the school? “Fairfield offers a great education and a very strong lacrosse program. I also loved the location of the school being right next to the beach. During my visits, Coach Copelan, Coach Whitley and the other coaches gave me a great idea of what being a student and a lacrosse player at Fairfield was like and made me want to be a Stag.”

What is your team’s outlook for next season? “Our team lost a good group of seniors last year. However, we have a great senior class this year and return most of our starting defensemen. With the difficult schedule we play, we will definitely compete in games against very tough opponents and look to make a run at the Inter-Ac title.”

Other comments: “First, I want to thank my parents for supporting me and always providing me with the opportunity to play in all the tournaments and showcases that I played in.

“I would also like to thank my coaches from CCLC: Coach Sowers for getting me into lacrosse and being with me and helping me every step of the way; Coach Wall for also being with me every step of the way and for teaching me the defensive concepts that I needed to learn to lead a defense; and Coach Templeton for providing me with great goalie instruction from my first lacrosse practice.

“From Mesa, I would like to thank Coach Mueller for all his help in the recruiting process and for passing along his great lacrosse knowledge. Also, I would like to thank Coach Brumbaugh, and Coach Wall and Coach Sowers again.

“I would like to thank my Penn Charter coaches, Coach McDonough and Coach McKinney for all their help in the recruiting process. Coach McDonough has always looked out for me both on the lacrosse field and in school. Both Coach McDonough and Coach McKinney willingly reached out to coaches and helped me throughout the entire process.

“And from Phillie Elite I would like to thank Coach JP Banks and Coach Jim Beury for all their help and guidance in the recruiting process.

“I would also like to thank my goalie coaches, Joe Donnelly Sr., Joe Donnelly Jr., and Matt Donnelly. They prepared me for success in my freshman season with Penn Charter, and they will continue to make me a better goalie and prepare me for college lacrosse.”

Other schools considered? Loyola, Penn State, Ohio State, St. Joseph’s
