Wrapping up Philly D3, D2 women’s games from Saturday

The Widener women’s lacrosse team scored eight goals in each half and put forth a solid defense to be victorious in its season opener against visiting Arcadia, 16-10, at Edith R. Dixon Field.

Laura Kalbach led Widener with six goals and Pinky Schneider (Moorestown) added three goals and an assist while Mackenzie Lindquist (Ocean City) added three tallies.

Hayley Molloy led Arcadia with four goals.

Haverford College 12, Scranton 9

Diana Perry had two goals and two assists for Haverford.

Deanna Giorno (Central Bucks South) had a goal and an assist for Scranton.

Albright 20, Lancaster Bible 4

Erin Farrell and Amanda Smith (Boyertown) were the go-to players for the Lady Lions in their season opener. Farrell had seven points total (four goals and three assists) and Smith scored five goals.

Swarthmore 14, Eastern 1

Annalise Penikis (Strath Haven) had three goals and two assist for the ganet in its season opener.

Emerson 13, Immaculata 12

Freshman Shannon Neill (Cardinal O’Hara) scored five goals and had one assist and freshman Allison Jakavick (Exeter) added three goals for Immaculata in its opener.

Franklin & Marshall 13, Washington & Lee 5

Maggie Mae Shields (Baldwin School) and Ali Kelly (Radnor) each had two goals for F&M (2-0).

Division III
Seton Hill 11, Holy Family 6

Junior Brigit LaRose (Holy Cross, NJ) scored four of the team’s six goals, including the only two scores in the first half by the Tigers. Senior Stephanie McNesby (Archbishop Ryan) scored a pair of goals for the Tigers in the second half.
