Women’s recruits: Navy’s Class of 2017 includes Field (Springfield-M), Hubley (Episcopal Ac.)

Navy women’s lacrosse head coach Cindy Timchal (Haverford High, West Chester) has announced the program’s 11-member incoming Class of 2017. The freshman class took part in induction ceremonies in late June and is currently going through plebe summer at the Naval Academy.

Six of the student-athletes hail from Maryland, two are from Pennsylvania, two are from New York and one each is from Virginia and Tennessee. The class consists of one attacker, four midfielders, five defenders and one midfielder/defender.

Kaitlan Moynihan, Maggie Nantz and Aislinn Probst earned US Lacrosse High School All-America First-Team honors in 2013, while Justice Swett was an All-America Honorable Mention. In 2012, Probst earned All-America First-Team honors and Nantz was an honorable mention. The class has also combined for 10 US Lacrosse Academic All-America certificates.

The incoming class will join Navy for its seventh season of varsity play in the spring of 2014. Navy advanced to the NCAA Second Round in 2013 after winning a fourth-straight Patriot League Championship. The Mids (19-2) finished the 2013 season ranked No. 15 in the IWLCA national poll.
