Twelve more tickets were won Monday when @phillylacrosse held its second Twitter Trivia Contest for Saturday’s inaugural Whitman’s Sampler Independence Classic at PPL Park.
The question was: What two players share the record for most goals in an NCAA men’s Division I playoff game.
The answer was Syracuse’s Gary Gait (former Wings great and current Syracuse women’s coach)and Brown’s Oliver Marti with nine. Gait accomplished the feat in 1988 against Navy, and Marti followed in 1992 versus Loyola.
The first to answer correctly was Lower Merion and Quaker City sophomore attack Abby Goldstein (@abbbyleeeigh).
Second to answer correctly was Kennett and NXT sophomore attackman-midfielder Brady O’Neill (@bradyoneill17).
Third was Cabrini freshman midfielder and Abington grad Matt Figueroa (@mattfig2).
High Honorable Mention went to Boyertown senior goalie and Eastern commit Austin Mutter (@Ayyyy_Mutt_Mutt).
The question was related to NCAA men’s lacrosse championship history – since the tourney features three men’s games (two are Philly matchups) and also because Philly is hosting the Championship Weekend at Lincoln Financial Field on May 25-27.
The tickets were courtesy of Inside Lacrosse, which is running the event. On Monday we’ll do it again – three sets of four tickets – a value of $100.
