Tuesday’s men’s college roundup: Haverford College edges Trinity, Gwynedd-Mercy wins

Four consecutive goals to open the game helped Haverford College’s men’s lacrosse teams down visiting Trinity (Conn.) College, 10-9, Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match-up at Swan Field.

Dan LoSardo led the Fords with (3-3) three goals but the offense was spread across the attackers as seven different players notched a goal for Haverford. Christian Clay (Lawrenceville School) netted two and added three assists for a team-high five-point day.

Trinity’s Shaheen led all scorers with four goals, getting a lot of help from teammate Chase Growney (Episcopal Academy), who finished with six assists.

Gwynedd mercy 13, DeSales 12

Senior William Beck (Archbishop Ryan) had a career-high five goals and two assists while Dustan Mangin (Archbishop Wood) added two scores and a personal-best four helpers.

Alvernia 16, Bryn Athyn 3

Junior Colin Gallagher scored a game-high five goals to lead Alvernia (4-4) to a win over Bryn Athyn College (1-2).
