Thursday’s girls’ HS highlights: Mount St. Joseph tops Merion Mercy

Olivia Gannon collected seven goals and two assist as visiting Mount St. Joseph defeated Merion Mercy, 16-13, Thursday to force a first-place tie in the Catholic Academies League with the Bears.
The Mount (10-1 overall) and Merion Mercy (8-2 overall) are both 8-1 in the league with games to play for each.

Christie Mischler had four goals and an assist for the Mount. Juls D’Orazio led Merion with four goals and two assists and Caroline Corzel added three goals.

North Penn 14, Souderton 11

Hannah Young (four goals, two assists), Lauren Green (three goals, two assists) and Ashley Durham (four goals) led the Maidens (9-2, 7-2) to the Suburban One Continental Conference win.

Upper Dublin 18, Cheltenham 12

Taylor D’Ginto scored seven goals while Rachel DiFrangia had five goals and one assist to lead the Flying Cardinals. (10-2, 9-0) in the Suburban One American.

For the Panthers, Sammie McManus had three goals.

Episcopal Academy 14, Agnes Irwin 8

MC Curran and Alexandra Silvera each scored three goals and Lindsey Reder had 10 saves for EA (8-2, 7-0), which is now two games ahead of scond-place Germantown Academy atop the Inter-Ac League.

Hannah Keating led Agnes Irwin with three goals and five draw controls.

Notre Dame 14, Germantown Academy 5

Courtney Donovan had four goals, two assists, five ground balls and four draw controls to help the Irish (6-5, 4-3) claim the Inter-Ac win and knock the Pats two games behind first-place EA.

Hanna Bogorowski led GA with two goals and an assist.
