In less than a minute we had three winners crowned in a a special @phillylacrosse Trivia Contest for sets of four tickets to the inaugural Whitman’s Sampler Independence Classic next Saturday (March 9) at PPL Park.

The question was related to NCAA men’s lacrosse championship history – since the tourney features three men’s games (two are Philly matchups) and also because Philly is hosting the Championship Weekend at Lincoln Financial Field on May 25-27.

The question was: What three teams won the national title the last time Philly hosted the Final Four in 2006 at the Linc. The answers were: Virginia (Division I), Le Moyne (Division II) and SUNY-Cortland (Division III).

Here are the contest winners: First in about 8 seconds was Strath Haven/Mesa Fresh JR ATT Tucker Carney (@tucker_carney).

Second place goes to Robert Senior, former Malvern Prep and Conestoga Goalie-ATT, now fitness guru- blogger (@RobGoBlue).

Third winner is Avon Grove/DukesLC JR DEF and recent Lehigh commit Danny Norris (@dannymnorris30).

There were two that earned Honorable Mention for getting it right only seconds later. One is Boyertown/Freedom JR MF Brock Johnson (@johnson_brock). The other is Ridley/HEADstrong SR G and Chestnut Hill College signee Thomas McDermott (@DoWn_N_McDerTTy).

The tickets were courtesy of Inside Lacrosse, which is running the event. On Monday we’ll do it again – three sets of four tickets – a value of $100.
